HISTORY

Note from Webmaster

 Most our history section was taken from a book titled "Parkersburg Fire Department - Moments in History 1897-1990". The book was compiled by Lt. Morris Bower and Jo Ann Thomas. The book and this section of the website, contain humorous moments and sad moments, in the history of the Parkersburg Fire Department.

There book was published in 1990 (hard to believe that was 15 years ago. . . the year I graduated high school). This website is a personal project that I've always meant to get around to and finally did. It is my hope that  this website (to quote Lt. Morris Bower)  "remains a constant reminder of the progress and dedication of the members of the Parkersburg Fire Department."

I sincerely hope you enjoy our site. If you have any stories or photos that you think would benefit our visitors, please let me know. . .I will try to include them.
